We are eleven
To celebrate the fact that we’re now counting our age on our toes, we had a birthday party last week, complete with special cake and party bags. Work got bumped for birthday lunch, pass the parcel got bumped by a massive game of bingo and post cake sugar highs got whacked out on Delia’s amazing homemade piñata. Rich made a speech, everyone drank champagne and nobody wet themselves during the magic show. Which counts as a very successful birthday party. Take a look the happy snaps right here.

The kids are alright
Woop woop. Exciting news from the world of kids. Not only are our brand new magnets out on shelf this week but our brand new kids’ website is also up and running. You can use your magnets to unlock secret codes, play more games than you can shake a very large tiddlywink at and most importantly, win lots of cool prizes. What’s more, if you get your friends to join your team, you can add all your points together and win even more stuff. As Les Dawson once said, points mean prizes. So make like Les and get playing.

Question time
There’s still time to submit your question for this year’s AGM. So if you’ve got burning desire to out why we favour strawberries over lychees or how Adam’s pre wedding fitness regime is coming along, then ask away. You’ll be able to vote on the top ten questions in next week’s news, so if you fancy getting your question into that top ten, then you’ve got to be in it to, er, potentially have your question asked. Get involved right here.

Hello and welcome.
This week’s news is made of bears, Lego and a sausage outfit. Not so tasty for the mouth but a right royal banquet for the eyes. Feast on.

Squeezed to meet you
Please say hello to our new and improved innocent fruit tubes. New because they now come in a 100% recycled box which can then be recycled after use and has ace games inside. Improved because the ladies in the kitchen have been working hard to make both recipes even tastier than before. And improved again because our packaging experts have made the tubes even easier to open. Technically that makes our fruit tubes new, improved and improved again but it’s not quite as catchy. Read more here.

Where’s your head cam at?
Test runs for the head cam for our AGM are looking good. Russell has been test driving it at work this week, ready for Luke to wear on the 22nd May. Luke is going to be documenting the whole day from the moment he wakes up to the moment he goes to bed and you’ll be able to track his progress live. We'll let you know the link next week. Meantime, thanks to everyone who submitted a question for the Q&A session. We’ve whittled them down to a shortlist so have a read, vote for your favourite here and the top 5 will be asked on the day.

Not on the payroll...
...but still doing a very good job of telling people about our smoothies, Peter Kay, Gwyneth Paltrow and Kid Sister have been recommending our smoothies to the world via their respective tweets and newsletters. (So we’d like to reciprocate and take this opportunity to recommend Top of the Tower, Sliding Doors and Pro Nails as great examples of their finest work).

This week’s Bob of the week is Josie’s pony, Fat Bob Slim. In the winter, he’s known as Fat Bob but come summer, he turns into Fat Bob Slim. Here he is at Bilsdale Show where he won a rosette for his St. Trinians outfit and Hipsville shades.

This week’s corner of the week is the Grand Hotel hairpin corner in the Monaco Grand Prix. It’s famed as the slowest corner in Formula One (just 31mph). Here’s what it looks like if you happen to be watching the Grand Prix on the telly this w/e.

And heres what it looks like if youre driving in it. Apparently.

Mark of the Mountains
Here’s a quick update on how Mark’s training for the Tour De France is going:
• He’s managing to clock up 100+miles of cycling every weekend (good)
• He’s missed 1 wedding, 4 parties, 3.5 dates, 1 skiing trip and a random cooking lesson because of training (less good)
• And when he does manage to fit in a social event, the only thing people want to talk to him about is cycling (see above)
With only 8 weeks till the starting gun, he’s pedalling on through the bad B&Bs and lack of lie ins like a trooper. Check out his progress in pictures right here.

Kids in da house
25 mums and dads, 35 kids, 1 face painter and a walking smoothie descended on Fruit Towers last weekend for a morning of fruit filled fun. From making bird feeders out of old smoothie cartons through to donning fruit hats, smoothie making workshops and chatting to Ness about healthy eating, there was loads going on. The highlight of the day however seemed to be the chicken, closely followed by Ben getting covered in glitter and Abi’s sister’s amazing courgette cake. Check it all out here and then print your free healthy eating tips guide right here.

They’re coming...
Our AGM is less than 3 days away and preparations are well under way. The bean bags have arrived, the grass has been hoovered and desks everywhere are being frantically tidied* so that everything is in ship shape, tip top condition for Saturday. Thanks to everyone who voted for the top six questions for the Q&A session (you can have a read of the winners here). We’re going to be posting a full update of the day early next week but if you can’t wait that long, you can get up-to-the-minute updates live from Luke’s head.

A Grownup Meeting #3
Our third AGM took place on Saturday and unlike last year, the sun shone all day long. 100 cheery folk arrived on time for a day filled with debates, chat, voting and cake (though not necessarily in that order). The gym turned into a jungle, Simon very kindly brought his own cake along, the beanbags got upgraded with silk cushions and our new veg pot recipe for autumn was chosen*. Read on for more highlights of the day below. |

Gorillas, gameshows and a gallery
After lunch, everyone got to visit different stations around the office to learn a bit more about what goes on at innocent. Think Crystal Maze but without the flute playing or promise of Mummsy. Smoothie making took place in the kitchen, sustainability chats with real live primates went down in the Gym Forest, an exhibition of all our creative work was expertly curated by Tansy and Ben, and Lucy E and Heather laid on a mysterious Innovation Treasure hunt in the chillout. Of all the areas though, it was Siobhan, Marta and Dan ‘The Man from Hertford’ who stole the show with their Wheel of Fruitune. It’s as good (if not better) than it sounds. Check it out right here.

Questions, questions
This year’s Q&A session was skillfully compered by Dan G who made sure that everyone got their say and that the top 5 questions you submitted and voted for were all read out in an array of amusing accents. No one wore ties (though Rich did don chinos) and Adam admitted to his first official job title. You can see for yourself if this confession made the final edit by watching the Q&A sessions right here. Thanks to everyone who came along on the day, everyone who got involved on line and everyone who ate their fair share of cake. We’re looking forward to next year already.

This week’s Bob of the week is young Bob Brady of the Brady family. Known for occupying the bottom right corner of the grid, young Bob was a safety monitor who followed his dreams and became a racing driver (despite his perma smile family). An inspiration if ever there was one.

This week’s corner of the week is Pets Corner in Jesmond Dene, Newcastle-upon-Tyne. Housing everything from peacocks to pygmy goats, it’s currently closed for refurbishment but is set to reopen this summer.
The animals are enjoying a little sojourn down at Ouseburn Farm which, as all Byker Grove lovers will know, is formerly known as Byker City Farm. Incidentally, if anyone knows where Spuggy and Fraser are now, please let us know. We’ve never got over what happened to Geoff.
