A new home, a big vote and a goose
called Bob |
| Spring likes to tease. So whilst this fickle season blows hot, cold and downright chilly, allow this week's steady, dependable news to warm your goose pimpled cockles/damp boater shoes. |
| The movement |
After almost 11 glorious years in Shepherds Bush, innocent has moved to a brand new home. Known as the Fridge On The Bridge to locals, and as Fruit Towers III to us, this time we got it right – it is an actual tower. We haven't moved that far actually – about 3 miles up the road to Ladbroke Grove. The strangest thing about the move is that our new place is about 50 yards from our very first office, from which Rich, Jon and Adam first sold smoothies in 1999. It's about this time we should talk about some sort of mysterious eternal cycle that governs the very way that we live, but we shan't. |
|
| The tour |
We'd love to give you a little tour around the building. Imagine yourself walking up London's elegant Ladbroke Grove, bidding good day to people as you walk past them. Turn right onto sunlit Kensal Road and enter Portobello Dock, a quaint cobbled canalside enclave, and our new home. As you walk through the front door you'll notice...actually, just take a look at a few photos that we've taken. It'll make more sense. |
|
|
| The vote |
Seems like there's quite a lot of voting going on at the moment. Local elections, the AV vote, and of course, the big one – our Mini Movies voting. We've whittled our Mini Movies entrants down to the final five, and now we need you to choose a winner. The ultimate prize is for the winning entry to be shown on Channel 4, as a proper advert, and there are plentiful other rewards too. Watch the finalists and get voting here. |

| Everyone got backache from moving big green crates, Kamal discovered the geese, lots of people stayed home for the 3 day week, Stu went to Exeter for a print run, the showers broke, people stood at big plate glass windows on the fifth floor and shouted "I'm king of the world" at no-one in particular. |

This week's Bob is this goose. There are two of them that live just outside, on the canal outside our new place. The one on the left is called Bob,
and the one on the right doesn't talk much, so we haven't been introduced yet. If you know a good Bob then drop us a line to
iambob@innocentdrinks.co.uk and it could be their mug here. |

This week's corner is the corner of Ladbroke Grove and Kensal Road (the aforementioned sunlit/elegant place).
This particular view of it is taken from the fourth floor of the new Fruit Towers. |

| Hatched, matched and dispatched |
| That’s the theme of this week’s news. If you’re not sure why, read on. And if you’re still not sure, ask your nan, auntie or anyone over the age of 63. |
| Eggs eggs eggs |
With spring well under way, this weekend heralds chicks, hot cross buns and giant bunnies administering egg shaped chocolate quests. If you’re yet to hatch your Easter plans for the first April Bank Holiday, then here are a few eggcellent suggestions to keep you occupied:
• Get out and about at one of the eggciting Easter events taking place at National Trust properties across the land
• Get baking and invite everyone round for an Simnel spot of high tea
• Celebrate St George’s Day on Saturday and vote for an extra Bank Holiday while you’re at it
• Bored of painting eggs? Go bouncy instead |
|
| Wedding bubb-bells |
There’s still time to enter our right royal knees up competition in time for April Bank Holiday #2. If you and your street fancy toasting Willsandkate with homemade Bucks Fizz (courtesy of the finest British fizz and our new orange juice) and maybe a visit from our Dancing Grassy Van next Friday, then click yourself happy here. |

| Moving house |
This week we’re shutting Fruit Towers shop on the Goldhawk Estate and shipping out to pastures new. Everything not in a green crate by tomorrow afternoon is going to the charity shop so mass sorting/tidying/wading through 10 years of gubbins is frantically. In a nice bit of synchronicity, our new home is just two streets up from the poky room that Rich, Adam and Jon started innocent out of all those years ago. We’ll get some pictures up of our new place once we’ve settled in a bit and found out where all the important stuff is (printer/kettle/sandwich shop). For now though, here’s a little tribute to the place we’ve called home for the last 10 years. Goodbye, Goldhawk Road. May you ever stay full of interesting characters and good falafel shops. |

| Everything not glued down went into a crate/the charity shop pile, Emma H and Sarah K stormed the London Marathon, Dan was replaced by a life sized cardboard cutout, Aslam put the basket ball hoop up for sale, Ami worked the pleats, a pair of size 7 steel toe cap boots, 1 smoothie blender, 2 small metal CD racks with metal cats on the top, assorted bits of Tupperware, a ball of string and a 1 litre tub of varnish all joined the massive free jumble sale in the chill out and we bid the old chicken shed farewell in style. |

As it’s Easter on Sunday, this week’s Bob of the Week is Bobby Chocolate.
Named after the famous Austrian TV character Graf Bobby (or Count Bobby), this banana chocolate is a taste tribute to all the noble japery that Count Bob used to get up to with his mates, Baron Mucki and Rudi. Unfortunately, Bobby Chocolate is an elusive confectionary to get hold of. So unless you’re hanging out in Vienna this weekend, may we suggest mashing a banana into your chocolate egg hoard and watching old Graf Bobby clips on the net as the next best thing?
Know a good Bob?

This week’s Corner of the Week is Easter Egg Corner. You know the deal. Wait for the bunny to hide the eggs then get hunting. Shady, dusty and neglected corners are notorious as troves for egg shaped bounty treasure.
Happy Easter. |

| Your pants, some fighting and the Canadian invasion |
| Welcome to the world. If you've been here ages, you'll be familiar with most of the main procedures (the walking, the thinking, the breathing), but if you are feeling uncomfortable at any point, please talk to the plants or have a cappuccino with one of our representatives. |
| Magical times ahead |
Feeling lucky? Got your fortunate pants on? Fancy winning all sorts of treats, from hampers filled with delicious breakfast goods to money off our tasty new orange and apple juice? | Time for a fight |
We were having a debate in the kitchen the other day. If all the fruit in the world got a bit lairy and had a scrap, who would win? And who'd be knocked out first round? Unable to agree which fruit was the 'ardest, and which fruit was the weakest, we thought we'd ask the people that follow us on twitter and facebook for their opinion. Here's a selection of some of the things people said. (warning: these links contain a blend of bad jokes and utter nonsense, and don't contribute in any way to your five a day. Get the debate started again by joining us on Facebook here and Twitter here. |

| Steady cameras |
There's still time to submit a short film to our mini movies competition. You could win £5000, special tickets to the London BFI film festival, and your film/advert on the telly – that actual telly in your house, with the buttons on it. Our special judging panel are twitching in their boots with excitement at seeing the entries, so check out all the info here to get involved. This week's get-you-in-the-mood offering is this beauty, homemade and all the more wonderful for it. |

| There was a Brompton race in the car park (unfold, ride hard, fold), Lou, Roberta and Alan slogged their way to abacus success, we realised there are only 3 weeks left til we move house, two Canadians took over the front desk (Janel and Katie), Vicki was attacked by a kettle, we went to meet Johnny and Lisa (Vaughan and Snowdon) and the mystery cistern breaker remains at large |

This week's Bob was nominated by his friend Becky and is "...just Bobtastic. Mainly he's to be seen "styling" things which he tries to make out is a real job but really we all know he's just managed to make a living out of what is essentially everyone's fave school subject – arts and crafts.
PS ignore the pic of the Gucci manbag – that's just something he's got his eye on." If you know a good Bob, let us know. Email

This week's corner is Coles Corner. If we've done it before, sorry, but we wanted to listen to this song again. And to tell you once more that Coles Corner
is a famous spot in Sheffield that's a traditional meeting spot for courting couples. See you there. |

| Well paint me blue and call me Papa, |
| this week's news is as jolly and high pitched as a bunch of little cerulean chaps putting on their happy hats and going down the woods for a good old sing song. Imsmurf yourself right here. |
| Caption competition round two |
Our recent caption competition for our orange and apple juice labels was such a run away success, that we've decided to do it again. Last month's winner was Leyla whose winning words for the lemur can be read right here. This month, it's the turn of the sheep. What is he thinking? Why is he looking so confused? What has made him cock his little wooly head in such a quizzical manner? The answer is up to you. Just post your witticisms here and the winning caption will win a sheep dip full of goodies*. |

| Mr. Ed's odyssey |
Joining the cycling ranks of Mark and our friend Nick, next Sunday, Mr. Ed will be saddling up on his trusty steed and cycling 2,500 miles from Shepherd's Bush to Istanbul via Europe. It's all for a very good cause and he's been training hard, eating his own bodyweight in peanut butter and marmite sandwiches in preparation (as well as the occasional training ride through West London). So if you happen to be in W12 at about 2pm on Sunday and the smell of yeasty peanuts wafts past, keep your eyes peeled for a tall chap wobbling along a heavily laden bicycle or just check out his progress right here. |

| Mum's the word |
| In case you'd forgotten, it's Mother's Day on Sunday. If you're reading this and realise that you've just missed the last post/didn't book the train home/failed to buy the final box of All Gold down the corner shop, remember to pick up the phone and give your mum a bell this Sunday. |

| Easter come early |
Easter's nearly here. It's no Christmas, but people still like to give each other stuff so we'd like to send you a little something in the post. It's definitely not chocolate (we've eaten our quota for April already), but it's still a little something nonetheless. Just fill in your details here (by April 6th) if you like little somethings. |

| bob of the week |
 |
This week's Bob of the Week is BBC Bob. According to Alison, Robin and Stuart, BBC Bob's nickname is not down to the fact that he works for the Big British Castle but because he sounds like a radio announcer who might work there.
In addition to his name, Bob likes things that begin with B. Mainly bicycles, beer and Brentford FC. They're playing this Sunday at Wembley. So wish them luck on behalf of BBC Bob and his fluffy mascots. If you know a good Bob, let us know. Email
iambob@innocentdrinks.co.uk and it might be their face here next week. |

Following on from last week's Corner that is not a Corner of the Week, Jennie kindly sent us another corner imposter. Muckley Corner (down Staffordshire way) is also a roundabout which has absolutely no corners either and has led to many a thwarted rendezvous ('Okay. See you at 7:30pm on the corner of Muckley Corner').
Next week, normal corner service will resume. Promise. |
